Dr. Csicsko Biography

Dr. Csicsko earned a B.S. from Purdue University West Lafayette, a M.S. Degree in Pharmacology from Indiana University Bloomington and his M.D.Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis.
He completed residencies in General Surgery and Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center Hospitals, Indianapolis.
He recieved Certification by the American Board of Surgery and The American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Csicsko performed Fort Wayne's first cardiac valve replacement in 1977, the first ASD and VSD repair in 1978, and the first Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator in 1987.
He also has a special interest in Vascular Surgery and has extensive experience with Vascular by-pass, Carotid artery surgery, and Stent graft repair of Abdominal Aortic and Thoracic aneurysms.
He also has worked in the field of venous disorders and performed a large number of laser ablation procedures and other techniques used in venous disease.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a past President of the Fort Wayne Medical Society and Past President of The St. Joseph Hospital Medical Staff. He is author or coauthor of more than 20 scientific publications and currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
